Here are some shots of my local area. I'm across the water in Windsor, Ontario Canada looking over, just to give you an idea.

Here is a night shot of Detroit taken with my D700 and if I remember Sigma 50mm f1.4 HSM.

MODedit: we do not allow externaly linked images. Please upload them directly via our server (paperclip function). Here's a 'how to':

This is up river form a different angle but getting the entire city in the view.

Comments, critiques always welcomed.

These pics look pretty much nicer than what I would expect from Detroit's general reputation (however, I must admit that I've yet not been to Detroit and my expectation is based on what I've heard from collegues who have been there on an expat assignment).

Hi Darryl,

stunning pictures. The reflections are amazing. In my opinion both two could be a little darker, just a bit.

Cheers and thanks for sharing!

Thanks. It may depend on how your monitor is calibrated that could affect the output, mine has been calibrated using a Spyder3Pro ans it's been pretty spot on, so mine don't lighter but darker if anything.

I really like the one in the daylight because of the rocks in the foreground.

I would not darken them.

I have to admit, up to now I shared Holger's prejudice about Detroit. :z04_Flucht:

Good Evening.
Realy nice pictures, i like them both. I think the exposure (?) is right, but my monitor isn't calibrated. So my opinion isn't deciding ;)

Excuse my bad english....

Hope to see more Pictures from USA soon :)

Greetings,
Karo

Thanks for all the kind comments, and Saiyurij your English is excellent. I wish I could say I knew more than one language.
