Hallo Volzotan,

Marc

Volzotan~

What a great place! Your photos make it look like something out of a fairy tale.

I love those half-timbered buildings -- you may find them commonplace, but that is a building technique that is seldom used in the U.S.

Don't know where this place is, but it looks very Bavarian (or what we here in the States think Bavaria looks like :-) )

Good job!

Hi Moe,

Bad Rappenau is a 700 years old town near to Heidelberg. So, it's southern Germany but not Bavaria, the state is called "Baden-Württemberg".

Best regards
Marc

Hello Moe,

this half-timbered buildings are very old. This technique is not common for modern architecture.

None of these pictures shows Bad Rappenau. It's a town in the sourounding of Bad Rappenau. It could be Wimpfen, but I don't know surely. The last picture shows the post office of Siegelsbach. It's a village near to Bad Rappenau.

The left picture in post number 3 shows a sign on the so called "Lerchennest" in Steinsfurt. This was a hideaway for Friedrich, prince of Prussia, the later Friedrich II., for his escape to France. Here he was catched and like the sign says "saved for the fatherland".

Best regards
Volztan
