Stumbled in an area today that was a bit seedy and what appears to be an old railway bed. The was huge graffiti laden underpass that is definitely a home to some of the homeless just before this area. With the first snow of the year it made a nice blanket to create some good contrast.

Hi Darryl,

for me the picture is a little too narrow, in my eyes there could be more space on the right, but maybe this is on purpose.

I agree with Mike. The picture is a little bit narrow. But I would like to expand it on the left hand side. I think including the rails leading from left to the vanishing point would increase the graphic moment of the picture. B/W is a good option here.

Thank you very much for your comments. The crop I chose was completely deliberate, main reasons were the distracting poles and just general distractions but I didn't want your eye peering around the back of the train, I tied to train(no pun intended really) your eye down the train and with the aid of the other track, point to the vanishing point, more or less. Although I used the train as the biggest part of the picture I really used its lines and along the way you get to see the artwork.

And I think the B&W conversion helped accomplish this, if I were to focus more on the graffiti perhaps I would used color, number one, and perhaps a different perspective. I'm hoping when you look at the image although you do see the back of the train your eyes immediately without thinking run down to the end, hopefully I accomplished that. I personally feel this would have worked better if this was the front of the train.

In the end I did capture both areas your mentioned because I prefer to post crop.
